My last blog post

It's been three years (over actually) since I last posted on here! Life was busy and I started doing Chatbooks to document the daily happenings in the Bybee household. I recently got an email saying they are going to delete all blogs after March, so I will be printing this off so that we might always enjoy it. Hopefully my family will find it as much of a treasure as I do.

As I look back on all these fun memories and big changes, I can see the Lord's hand in my life and can clearly see that He is always there and that He truly loves and blesses us daily. I am so thankful for my family and I treasure them, and God, above all else. I hope my family always remembers the love I have for them and can see this through the words and pictures documented in this blog. I love you so much Trevor, Averie, Paxon, and Jett!

Boo at the Zoo!

Here at the Louisville zoo they do a yearly Boo at the Zoo, where they have lots of characters you can meet and trick or treating throughout the zoo. This year Trevor had to study so I braved it myself and met up with a bunch of our friends and then afterward we all went to our friend Brittany's house and had dessert. By the end of the night we were ALL exhausted but we sure had a fun time! I LOVE this time of year!

Quit growing so fast baby Jett!

Baby Jett is growing up SO fast! He is getting SO chunky, like Averie was when she was a baby. He started smiling a ton around 5-6 weeks and it melts me every time he does.

The Wall of Fame

At Averie's school they have a "Wall of Fame" where each teacher picks one student that gets to hang up something they have done on the wall. Averie got to have hers up this month and she is so proud of herself. When we met with her teacher for parent-teacher conferences, she told us that Averie is by far the best writer in her class and the top three for reading. She is so smart and works so hard and I am very proud of her! 

Conference Weekend

Conference weekend, especially October Conference, is one of my favorite times of the year! I LOVE hearing the prophet, apostles, and other leaders speak to us. It always leaves me feeling motivated and uplifted. This conference I only missed part of one session but otherwise was able to sit and enjoy the rest of it. The kids made it through the first session thanks to a game I had, Conference Bingo. Unfortunately, Paxon ate all the pieces (cheerios) before the first talk was even through. Silly boy! I know that Conference doesn't mean much to them now, but I hope one day they will look back and remember the feeling they feel when they listen to the Prophet speak. 

I am so grateful for a living Prophet in these latter days who guides me personally through my life. President Monson's health seems to be declining and he struggled through his talk towards the end, barely able to get the words our or stand straight. It broke my heart and I wanted to reach through the screen and lift him up.  I am so grateful to him for his example and for all the positive influence he has made in my life. 

Three new apostles were set apart at this conference which was a humbling experience and it was so awesome to be able to raise my hand and sustain these men as apostles. I am so grateful for the Gospel!

In between sessions Daddy took the kids, and himself apparently, out for a little bike ride.

One month (September 22nd)

Jett Trevor Bybee at ONE month:

Loves bath time, eating, sunshine, snuggling and being held non-stop, being swaddled, going for drives (most of the time) and he's starting to really love his binky. 

He does not love being put down, poopy or wet diapers (AT ALL), or losing his binky, especially in the car. 

He only wakes up once to eat at night (4 am) and eats every two hours during the day. He weighs 8 lbs 11 oz (17th percentile) and is now 20.5 inches long. (25th percentile). 

In just two weeks he had gained TWO pounds! The doctor said he is just fine to sleep through the night at the rate he is growing. Go Jett go!

One month down, eternity to go! We love you JT!

Visitors from Idaho!

My very favorite part of September was when my parents came to visit for a week. I hadn't seen them in a year so it was an emotional reunion. I can't even tell you how nice it was having them here! They helped me SO much. They cooked every meal, cleaned my house again and again, did my laundry (also, again and again!), bought us groceries,cooked for us,  and basically spoiled us all to pieces. As corny as this sounds, it was nice having my mom and dad take care of me for a week and help me through all of the changes happening. While they were here, we went to Huber farms and went on a wagon ride to pick apples from the orchard. We went to Bass Pro Shops (my dad had never been and I am pretty sure it is his idea of Heaven), to the zoo with the kids (except Averie who was in school), and to Churchill Downs where we watched a few horse races and toured the Kentucky Derby Museum. We also went to a few local restaurants in search of the best southern BBQ. We had SO much fun together! 
When they had to leave, there were tears shed. It started with Averie, then my mom, then me, and then my dad. None of us were immune. We dropped a crying Averie off at school and then took them straight to the airport. I'm pretty sure I tried everything to get them to stay, but I guess going back to work is pretty important. Bleh. We love you so much Mom and Dad! Thank you for everything! Come back SOON!

-My parents were able to come with us to "Back-to-School-Night" and Averie was so proud to show them her classroom and her locker and introduce them to her teacher. She also introduced us to her best friend at school, Hallie.

-I had to capture this monster milk stache. Can you seriously GET any cuter!
-Watching the horse races at Churchill Downs. We got to watch three and it was so fun! Those horses are so beautiful! We got a great seat right above the spot where they bring the horses into the arena so we got to see them up close!

-This jockey was from Great Britain. He is actually WAY taller than your average jockey. He was nice enough to take a picture with us!

-We were usually worn out by the end of the day. Dad and Trevor snoozing...er...watching tv.
-I was lucky enough to capture this middle-of-the-night smile by my Jett boy. At this point it wasn't often that you could catch one so I had to take a picture when he did it. 

-We had lots of fun shopping at Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas. Pax thought it was so cool to have Papa push him around in the cart. Paxon also decided he had to pee, frequently, every time we went somewhere. So yes, I brought empty water bottles and made him pee in them. Yep, I am THAT mom. Had to capture a picture of that as well because let's face it, I may need blackmail in the teenage years. 

-Saying goodbye is the PITS! Enough said. We love you Grandma and Papa!
