September!

September was a whirlwind of a month. Trevor celebrated his 30th birthday on the 4th. Then my parents came to visit on the 9th for a week. We spent the month trying to get into a routine!

Jett LOVES the sunshine. When you get him in the sun he usually puts his arms up by his head and closes his eyes. This is him in his swing by the window, soaking up the rays.

Averie had been begging me to eat hot lunch at school instead of me packing one and I kept telling her no, because I like to pack her lunches. So one day before I went to pick Averie up from school, I found her lunch box under the seat. I of course assumed she had "forgotten" it, because I didn't think my sweet little girl would purposefully leave it in the car. But sure enough, when she hopped in the car she announced how she had done it on purpose, and had absolutely LOVED hot lunch that day. The little stinker was so proud of herself! She said, "Well Mom, I was getting REALLY tired of peanut butter and jelly!" Needless to say we had a little talk. I have now allowed her to pick two days a week to have hot lunch. Win/win for Mom and Averie.

The many faces of Jett!

Jett hated his first bath at home, but since then he LOVES them!

Daddy loves his boys!

She wears her attitude well.

Sometimes I look down as I'm holding the sweet boy and this is what I see. He is so precious!

Happy TEN YEAR anniversary!

I have no pictures of our anniversary this year, because to be honest we spent the day taking tests and dealing with a puking toddler.
It was on August 27th and it was our TEN year anniversary! Can you believe that? Ten years has flown by! We had planned to make this year really special (okay, so it was more on my agenda than on Trevor's-he is male after all) but Jett was only four days old and Paxon had been up all night throwing up. Trevor had to go to school that day and when he got home we were both exhausted. So no, it wasn't that awesome, but it sure is nice to be able to say, "Hey, we've made it TEN years! Cheers to us!"
So here's to the husband that has been by my side through it all with me the past ten years. Three different states, 4 different basements, one house, and two rentals. One dog, three schools, and lots of moves in the process. Three BEAUTIFUL children, lots of growing, and overall lots of LOVE. (Most days anyway...hehe)
Happy anniversary to us!

Happy SIXTH birthday Averie!

We did Averie's actual birthday party a week after her birthday. I tried to make it super special for her but didn't have as much time with having a newborn and all. So yes, the cake is store-bought and I didn't do any fancy games, but it still turned out a success and I am pretty sure the birthday princess felt super loved by all her friends and family!

We did a My Little Pony theme this year because Averie is WAY into that right now. She loved it!

My sweet baby Jett is so cute I can't handle it! Here are some pictures of him at two weeks old. We adore this little boy so much!

Coming Home!

Coming home from the hospital and settling into our new and improved life was a big change for me.  Trevor dropped me off at home and had to go back to school. I was exhausted but I had to pick up Averie from school in just a couple hours, so I immediately jumped into our new routine. Even though it was a bit chaotic and tiring, it all worked out and it was so nice being home with our family!

Leaving the hospital

The first week after I had Jett, Paxon got sick with a stomach bug. Trevor was up all night with him trying to keep him in his room so we didn't expose the baby to anything, and then he had a big quiz the next day he couldn't miss so I was trying to juggle getting Averie to school, keep Pax away from Jett, and take care of a newborn. So hectic!  Jett was a little bit jaundice so I had to take him in twice that first week to make sure his bilirubin levels were in range, which they were, so luckily he didn't have to go in for light treatment.
Then on Saturday, which was actually Averie's birthday, we noticed a big rash on her chest in the shape of a bulls eye. Since we knew she'd recently been exposed to ticks, we took her in and the doctor put her on an antibiotic just as a preventative measure (lyme disease is more common in the east where we live).
Despite having to go to the doctor on her birthday though, Averie had a great birthday. We took her out for breakfast and then to her soccer game.  I decided to wait and do her birthday the following Saturday because Jett was still so new and that week had already been crazy. I brought cupcakes to school for her on Friday though so I think that made her feel extra special. So technically she got to celebrate her birthday on three separate days!

Paxon's bare butt and farmers tan...just because it's cute!

Averie on her birthday- at the doctor and out to breakfast. Isn't she the CUTEST six year old ever? I sure think so!
