November 2013

Okay, November 2013 was a CRAZY, stressful, and exciting month. We had some tenants move out of our rental and to say they destroyed it is an understatement. We pretty much had to fix up the entire house, including new carpet, new tile in both bathrooms, new paint on most the walls, cleaning up an insane amount of junk they left EVERYWHERE. We had to replace the woodburning stove, clean up the yard, etc, etc, etc. It was a mess! On top of that, it was a VERY cold November and due to all the fix-up costs, we couldn't afford to turn on the heat in the rental so we were in there for hours at a time in the freezing cold. Brr!
Trevor had to leave in the middle of this project for a couple days to interview in Louisville Kentucky. He had already interviewed in Florida and at Creighton. He felt good about both those interviews, but when he called me after his Louisville interview he said he felt that this was maybe where we were supposed to be. The interview went really well and he felt good about our family going to Loiusville.
We were super anxious the whole month of November knowing that on December 2nd we would find out if he had or had not gotten into dental school. With that and the house project, we were pretty stressed out. But we knew that we had done everything we could and the rest was in the Lord's hands.
However, Trevor got this letter from Louisville after a couple days of being home. The interviewers wrote personal notes on it and somehow getting this letter gave us even more hope that he had gotten into Louisville.

Isn't this the cutest picture of my Grandma Persis and Paxon? I went and picked up my Gram one day and brought her over to my house to hang out with the kids and me. I asked her if she would help feed Pax and that made her day, and his. Best buddies!

I came home from work one day that November to find this. Averie had discovered the art of cutting her own hair. She chopped off about five inches or so up to her chin. Eek! She left the pieces on the table as evidence!
We had to go get her hair chopped after that incident and here is the result. Super cute!

I somehow missed getting any good pictures of Thanksgiving. If I find any I will add them later. But we went up to Iona and it was a great Thanksgiving! It was especially nice because both my Grandma Persis and my Grandpa and Grandma Sayer were all there. We had such a big group that we did it at my grandparents church. We decorated it nice and had Christmas movies playing and activities for the kids, and of course YUMMY food! I love the holidays! Nothing better than being surrounded by family and good food.
