December 2013 was an AWESOME month for the Bybees! Paxon was a year and half old and developing such a fun personality. He was getting more independent and getting into things like a boy does.
We always love putting up the tree and decorations! (Okay, more me than anyone else) Averie has a cute little nativity set that is just for her room and a tiny Christmas tree as well so she had fun putting those up and making Baby Jesus comfortable in his manger.
Probably the BEST part of our December was Trevor getting accepted into dental school! He got accepted into a school in Florida and Louisville and wait-listed at Creighton. When we found out he'd been accepted to Louisville there was no question or discussion-this was where we were supposed to go. It felt so right to both of us and to say we were excited is such a huge understatement!
Our amazing friend Stacy Maynard brought us over this basket of goodies to congratulate us the morning we found out. So blessed!
What is December without snow? We didn't get much that year but what we did get, we played in!
Pax was not sure WHAT to do with the snow on his hands!
Averie and I met up with Morgen, Elle, and Morgen's mom in Burley to go to the Nutcracker. Averie had never been and it was magical for her. To be honest, I'd never seen it either! I'd just read the story at Christmas, but watching it happen in front of us on stage was a ton of fun.
I also went to the Forgotten Carols with my mom-our yearly tradition. We never miss a year! The Forgotten Carols is my favorite way to start off the holidays and helps me feel the spirit of what Christmas is all about.
This picture of Averie and my dad makes my heart so happy. This book was one of my favorite parts of Christmas growing up. I'd sit on my dad's lap just like Averie is here, and he would tell me all the stories of Santa and his elves. It was magical! And to this day, looking through that book still makes me so happy! I love Christmas so much!
Andy and Kirstin stayed at our house this year(2013) for Christmas, and it was fun having them there to watch the magic unfold Christmas morning. Pax and Averie were so excited and loved getting to open their presents and be with family. Such a great day!
